We have taken Southern Phuket's friendly seas and converted them into a unique Beach Marine Walk. Guests can safely explore the variety of aquatic life exposed in the shallows off Friendship Beach at low tide. A veritable Mother Nature sea garden awaits the intrepid amateur botanist. Botanical Walk:
Our Botanical Walk through the 44 rai [18 acre] resort showcases the incredible array of native and exotic trees and flora that gives the resort its distinctive aura of peace and tranquility.
Our dedication to environmental sustainability stretches back 60 years when the beautiful beachfront property existed in its natural state. Through this philosophy as much natural vegetation as possible has been preserved and mixed with other plants exotic plants.
The result is a biosphere containing an eclectic mix of trees, shrubs, grasses, flowers and fruit trees that on your Botanical Walk will expose you to Mother Nature at her best with a little help from our gardners.
Twenty four varieties of flora line the pathways that wind around the resort. The fragrance of the Frangipani tree, flavorsome Mango, the Orange Jasmine from which perfume is extracted, the distinctive and ubiquitous Foxtail Palm, Lemongrass, one of Thailand's most distinctive flavours and the Star Gooseberry are just some of the flora you can touch and experience.

Rubber Tree: Para rubber tree [Hevea brasiliensis] Of major economic importance because of its sap like extract, known as latex, can be collected.
Rubber is a mainstay of the Phuket economy and Thailand is the world's largest rubber producer .
Throughout the island you pass huge stands of cool, green rubber tree plantations where trees grow up to 24 m. [78 feet] tall. The trees thrive in Thailand's frost free climate with adequate rainfall.
Unfortunately, rubber trees on Phuket are falling victim to commercialization.

We value their contribution to Thailand's economy, and also the cool, green canopy of shade they afford. So we maintain our rubber trees as an integral part of our environmental programme.

Rubber tapping is an age-old traditional source of income practiced by Southern Thai people in the surrounding rubber plantations. So we think it's a great way for our guests to experience some genuine local culture in a hands-on, practical, way.
Proceeds from the rubber tapping are donated to local community projects.
